Jamie Dunn, LMFT - Program Director

Jamie has been with us since 2014. She oversees our programming and support groups to ensure that they are kept at the high quality standard that Cancer Support Community requires, and keeps the mental health of our patients and families at the center of our care.  Jamie runs groups, plans new groups, does new patient intakes and promotes the growth of our programs and services.  Jamie is a long-term resident of North County and lives in Atascadero with her family and her dog.


Shannon D'Acquisto - Executive Director   

Shannon is an 15-year cancer survivor and a long-time patient advocate and has led a local group for survivors since 2007, after her cancer diagnosis, at 32. She has spent many years working with our organization and volunteering with other cancer non-profits around the country, to bring information back to our local community. Her door is always open.  Shannon was born and raised on the Central Coast and moved to North County in 2000.

Candice Sanders - Development Director

Candice Sanders joined Cancer Support Community with prior experience in business development, events management, and donor relations. Prior to joining Cancer Support Community, Candice served as the Membership Manager for the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance for 6 years. Candice moved to the Central Coast from Cincinnati, Ohio in 2012, where she owned and operated a women's specialty boutique, specializing in fitting breast prosthesis and post-surgical garments. During that time, she developed a passion for cancer advocacy, that passion grew when she was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer at 35. She credits CSC as a pivotal part of her recovery and is thrilled to serve as the Development Director and to build relationships within our community. She lives in Atascadero and in her spare time she enjoys yoga, traveling, reading, and spending time with her pets and family.


Niki Shepherd, BSN - Patient Navigator.  Niki was raised in SLO county and lives with her family in Templeton.  She is a retired Nurse and brings a wealth of knowledge from personal and professional work around the medical and cancer fields.  Niki is a great patient navigator - utilizing her skills both from being a nurse as well as working inside the insurance industry.
